Montana 700 Announces 700 Reasons Mixtape, Out February 7th via Remain Solid/300 Entertainment

The Rising Dallas Rapper Recently Released the Video for “Brinks Truck,” a Highlight From the Upcoming Tape

A Leader of the “New Dallas” Movement, Prioritizing Music, Community, and Getting Money Over Divisive Violence, Montana Aims to Expand His Reach With His Upcoming Mixtape

The Announcement:

Montana 700 is on a mission to put his “New Dallas” sound on the map and change the culture of his home city in the process. Today, the Oak Cliff native announces 700 Reasons, his upcoming mixtape, and his first for Remain Solid/300 Entertainment. Carried by Montana’s nimble delivery and charming Texas drawl, 700 Reasons harkens back to the golden era of the Dirty South, when Cash Money and No Limit ruled the streets and rap from the bottom of the map dominated the airwaves. Montana uses these sounds to set the scene for his tales from the grind, as he attempts to escape the trenches and motivate others to do the same.

700 Reasons is home to a new version of “Pipeline,” Montana 700’s local hit and “Count A Hunnit,” featuring a sample of Jeezy’s “And Then What,” which earned positive attention from Jeezy himself. Featuring guest spots from some street rap heavy hitters, 700 Reasons arrives on February 7th via Remain Solid/300 Entertainment.

Ahead of the announcement of the mixtape, Montana shared the music video for “Brinks Truck,” a tape highlight. Propulsive and shimmering, “Brinks Truck” sounds like a million bucks, as Montana surfs atop cherubic vox, sparkling synths, and thunderous 808s. The song is a motivational anthem for plugs of all kinds, offering prudent financial advice for anyone smart enough to take it: “Last time around, I came and f*cked the streets up/Tryna tell these n****s, ‘get the money, f*ck bein’ tough’/Ridin’ round the hood fully loaded, like a Brinks truck/Gave these n****s a head start, still can’t keep up.” In the video, directed by Montana himself, the young boss posts up at the bodyshop, before he and his homies pull off a Brinks truck heist and use the proceeds to live it up at his penthouse.

Born and raised in South Dallas, Montana 700 is ready to make 2025 his year. He first hit the scene in 2022, making music that combined the twangy and bass-heavy Dallas rap template with broader Southern rap sounds. Along with his close friend and frequent collaborator Zillionaire Doe, Montana 700 is a leader of the New Dallas movement, an effort from the younger generation to stop the violence that has plagued Dallas hip-hop for years, and instead to build a community-focused scene that will allow the whole city to prosper. Montana scored his biggest hit yet last summer, when he released “Pipeline,” a hustler’s anthem that racked up millions of streams and prompted his fans to give him the nickname, “Mr. Pipeline.”

With 700 Reasons, Montana 700 aims to elevate his career and his city in the same motion. Stay tuned for more.
