Paper Route Empire’s Chicago Representative Reflects On How Far He’s Come In An Emotive New Video Ahead of His Upcoming Debut Project

Proudly representing Chicago for Paper Route Empire, Chitana brings a different flavor to the label’s well-respected roster. Today, the rising rapper shares “Grateful,” a new video single that will appear on his upcoming debut project Explain Through Pain. The single is a heartfelt and melodic rap ballad that finds Chitana reminding himself to be appreciative of every day: “Another 24 I’m blessed / Another 24, yes / Another 24, no stress / I need 24, no less.” In the video, the Windy City rapper heads south to Miami, where he shops in Brickell before heading to a beach club with Key Glock and the Paper Route crew. Even though he’s living the shiny life of a rapper, he hasn’t forgotten about his humble roots, with the video cutting back to clips of Chitana doing everything he can to make a living back home in Chicago.
“Grateful” follows up Chitana’s recent single “My Turn” and is the first glimpse of Explain Through Pain, Chitana’s upcoming debut project and his first release under Paper Route Empire. The rapper is ready to grow his small, but impactful catalog, which includes songs like the Young Dolph collaboration “Love Me” and the romantic “4am.” With Explain Through Pain, the artist delivers on the potential that his mentor saw in him, creating a project that drips with honest emotion and reflects the reality of Chicago life.
