More In Music Announces Advisory Board For 2024-2025, Including Notable Names like Cheryl “Salt” James, Grammy Nominated Artist/Songwriter Kenyon Dixon, Kelley Purcell, and More

Dedicated to Illuminating Career Paths, Providing Nurturing Mentorships, and Making Meaningful Connections in the Music Industry, More In Music Launches Its First Conference Spring 2025 in Los Angeles


Founded by Noelle Chesnut Whitmore in 2019, More In Music Aims to Empower and Educate All Generations About the Inner Workings of the Industry Through Panel Discussions, Effective Networking, Mentorships, Workshops, Digital Programming, and Now the More In Music Conference, Produced in Part by a Cohort of Young Aspiring Professionals (College Students and Individuals Between 18-25 Years of Age)

This Year’s Board Includes Artists, Managers, and Executives From Companies Like Live Nation, Interscope, Columbia, Parkwood Ent., The Recording Academy, The Orchard, Vydia, and More

The Announcement:

More In Music is a multi-faceted nonprofit founded with the aim of making the music industry more accessible and to provide a network of education, mentorship, and support for current professionals. As the organization plans its first More In Music Conference in Spring 2025, it announces the composition of its Advisory Board for 2024-25. A diverse complement of artists, veteran executives, and current industry professionals, the More In Music board is perfectly suited to execute More In Music’s mission to educate the public about music career paths, inspire the next generation of music industry leaders, and create a culture of empowerment formed through shared experience and personal connection.

Led by More In Music’s founder, industry vet Noelle Chesnut Whitmore, the More In Music Advisory Board features five legacy advisors, a host of bridge advisors, and three future gen advisors. The group of legacy advisors includes Cheryl “Salt” James, the legendary rapper and one half of Salt-N-Pepa and Damien Smith of Full Stop Management and Parkwood Entertainment. The group of bridge advisors includes GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter Kenyon Dixon, as well as professionals from respected companies like ColumbiaInterscopeLive NationThe Orchard, and more. The future gen advisors are two current college students and a recent college grad, who will get hands-on industry experience working with the board as well as many other industry professionals.

The More In Music Advisory Board will be instrumental in supporting the cohort in planning the inaugural More In Music Conference, slated for Spring 2025 in Los Angeles. The multi-day Conference will include panel conversations, workshops and keynotes from a diverse complement of the music industry’s most influential leaders. The Conference will provide college students and the Los Angeles community-at-large with the opportunity to gain exposure to careers in the music industry, and learn from some of the most accomplished executives in the business.

More In Music Conference is unique because the event is produced by a Cohort of students, who work in tandem with Noelle Chesnut Whitmore, a group of expert Industry Facilitators, and the More In Music Advisory Board to produce the event in its entirety. The student Cohort will get hands-on experience producing a conference and will receive dedicated mentorship from the board and a plethora of additional industry experts, composed of musicians, executives, and professionals in Marketing, Production, Social Media, etc.. Students will learn about programming, booking, event production, budgets, event logistics planning, and more. Each student will be assigned to a committee, led by expert facilitator or advisor to work collectively with all committees to help curate and produce the event.

Motivated by a desire to impact her community and instigate positive change, she saw the need to educate, especially young people, on the values of hard work, history, God, and perseverance. Combining her love for music with her commitment to giving back, More In Music was created to fulfill this vision.
