Jay Fizzle ignites the streets with his tumbling flow and uncommon swag. The Memphis rhymer prepares for his next project, Who Is Grizzape, by sharing a haunting video for “Letter To My Demon,” a project highlight. Working his fast-talking flow over a speaker-knocking bit of chipmunk soul, the longest-tenured Paper Route Empire signee’s voice rises in intensity as he chronicles the hardships of members of his community, stresses about feeding his kids, honors his grandma, and swears his revenge: “When they killed my n**** Flippa, they created a whole beast,” he snarls. In the video, Fizzle confesses his sins, as he contemplates his path to becoming a better man.
“Letter To My Demon” arrives ahead of Who Is Grizzape, coming this week. Named after his home block of Grape Street, Who Is Grizzape? is a devotional document, as Fizzle swears loyalty to his block and his bros, and has fun while doing it. Featuring the recently shared single “Hot N Ready,” the new project is a feast of no-holds-barred Memphis music, bringing the drawly DGAF flexes and tongue-twisting bars that Fizzle fans have come to expect. Featuring guest spots from his PRE cohort Key Glock, Memphis diva Kashh Mir, and a posthumous verse from Big Scarr, Who Is Grizzape? arrives on July 19th via Paper Route Empire.
Fizzle’s upcoming Who Is Grizzape? continues a strong run for the Memphis rap mainstay. Last year, he shared his album F*CK BEING FAMOUS, which featured guest spots from 03 Greedo and fellow PRE soldiers Key Glock and SNUPE BANDZ. He paid tribute to his favorite Ninja Turtle, who he honors with a chain around his neck, with 2022’s DonaFizzo, which featured street hits like “Standing On Top Of Sh*t” ft. Key Glock and the heartfelt tribute “Long Live Dolph” ft. Ricco Barrino.
With Who Is Grizzape on the way, Fizzle follows his mentor Young Dolph’s footsteps, promising to dig deep into his mastery of Memphis music and deliver a set for the Tennessee trap heads. Sit back and watch him rise to the top of his city’s busy scene.
