The Announcement:
(Chicago, IL – July 11, 2024) – After three years of successful events that bring the best and brightest in Latin music to the heart of downtown Chicago, Sueños Music Festival announces that it has reached a deal with the Chicago Park District to return to Grant Park for five more years, with an option to extend for five more.
“We are grateful to the City of Chicago, the Chicago Park District and its leaders for their confidence in us to produce a top-tier festival for the city’s Latin community,” say Aaron Ampudia and Chris Den Uijl of La Familia Presenta, and Charlie Walker and Charles Attal of C3 Presents, Co-Founders of Sueños. “Every year, the energy and excitement from fans at Sueños blow us away. We’re excited for what’s ahead, and to continue to highlight and celebrate Latin culture in this amazing city.”
Sueños Festival’s new deal with Chicago Park District affirms its status as a burgeoning cultural and economic institution in its home city. Sueños provides hundreds of jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of economic impact to the city each year. The festival’s economic impact on Chicago doubled since its inaugural year in 2022, from $120.9 million during its first festival to $243.7 million in 2024.
Sueños is dedicated to supporting and stimulating the sizable Latin American community in Chicago. This May, Sueños partnered with the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago for its Día Del Niño celebration, sponsoring family-centered enrichment, entertainment, and educational programs for the city’s youth. Each year, Sueños hosts 20 Days of Sueños, partnering with Latin restaurants and businesses in the city to give away free passes to the festival, highlighting local institutions and driving business their way.
Earlier this year, Sueños returned with the sold out Sueños Music Festival 2024, an unforgettable weekend filled with great performances and even better vibes. Fans witnessed performances from superstar headliners like Rauw Alejandro and Maluma, exciting young stars like Young Miko and Mora, Mexican music heartthrobs like Ivan Cornejo, Xavi, and Gabito Ballesteros, Reggaeton legends like Jowell Y Randy, and many more. Sold out in just five days, third edition of Sueños Festival is a testament to the passionate community of Latin music fans the festival built in a short time.
