The Announcement:

Quebec, January 1, 2024 – Quebec City, January 1st, 2024 – Each year, BLEUFEU follows up their world famous summer festival, Festival D’été de Québec, with an equally special winter event, called Toboggan. Once again this year, Toboggan lit up the Grande Allée area  in Québec City with four evenings, each more explosive than the last. The fourth edition of the festival was a resounding success, with approximately 150,000 attendees dancing in the heart of the city to the rhythms of the 13 performers, enjoying a brand new stage (the SiriusXM Cube) and a memorable countdown into 2024.

“Festival-goers turned out in very large numbers every night. Toboggan enjoys a great reputation as a winter musical event. The festival is now part of the local population’s habits and its format is a success for hotel partners, restaurateurs, and tourists. In the end, the entire region benefits from the repercussions of Toboggan,” stated Nicolas Racine, CEO of BLEUFEU.

The latest edition of Toboggan proves why it is growing into a must-attend event in the EDM festival scene. This year marked the debut of the SiriusXM Cube, a unique stage open on 3 sides and adorned with LED screens, which elevated the festival-goers’ experience by providing them with a high-caliber visual spectacle. The brand new Cube welcomed headliners Loud LuxuryKlingande, and High Klassified performed their hits, much to the delight of the festival-goers, along with supporting performers that included Derrick, G L O W Z I, Sin Less, Millimetrik, Joanna Magik, and DJ Karaba

The Toboggan Festival culminated with a special night, that combined traditional Québecois Folk with popular styles of today to properly send off 2023 and start 2024 on the right foot. On New Year’s Eve, the traditional group Le Diable à Cinq enchanted the crowd at the SiriusXM Stage on the Assemblée-Nationale square, passing the baton to Les Louanges, who got the festival-goers singing along to their unifying pop music. To conclude the year, Quebecois producer Mike Demero, followed by DJ Simone from the famous Italian trio Meduza, went all out to keep the huge crowd dancing into the new year.

“We were really looking forward to hosting Meduza. We knew that the unifying sound of this European EDM great would resonate strongly in Quebec City. We couldn’t have hoped for a better finale to this 4th edition of Toboggan. We were just as excited to present Mike Demero to the Quebec public, in what was one of the young, incredibly talented artist’s first live performances, who is making waves online. Additionally, we were thrilled with Mother Nature, who offered us decidedly mild weather to accompany our 4 festive evenings. We’re already looking forward to planning our 5th edition!” said Louis Bellavance, Vice President of Content and Artistic Direction.

This summer, BLEUFEU follows up Toboggan with its flagship event, Festival D’été de Québec, the annual 11-day festival which returns this July. The weeks-long summer festival just celebrated its 55th anniversary this year with one of its most successful editions to date. The event sold out within minutes and welcoming headliners that included Foo FightersLana Del ReyZach BryanGreen DayWeezerPitbullImagine Dragons, and more.

FEQ earned raves from across the spectrum, for its nimble handling of the weather, breadth of programming, passionate crowds, and smooth integration with the city of Québec. Pollstar led the charge, calling FEQ, “The Best Festival You’ve Probably Never Heard Of,” while outlets like NMEClashPasteThe Line of Best Fit, and many more heaped on the plaudits. With another group of all-world headliners in the works for next year, FEQ might not be a secret for much longer. Stay tuned for much more info about 2024’s edition of FEQ in the coming months.
