Tirelessly releasing hot singles and freestyles, the hard-working Chevy Woods is a local hero in his hometown of Pittsburgh. As he prepares to take his game national with Taylor’d, his upcoming debut, Chevy moved cross-country to Los Angeles, and he’s embraced the glamor (and weather) offered by his new home city. Filmed at sunset in San Fernando Valley, Chevy rocks his BMW hat in “Forever,” his latest video, as he stunts around L.A. County, driving around the city in his baby blue sports car. Produced by Beat Mechanics, “Forever” is a stuttering colossus, with staccato synth stabs, rumbling bass, and droning strings, over which Chevy announces his designs–to get money and steal your girl. Premiered by XXL, “Forever” is the latest visual from Chevy’s late 2016 mixtape Gang Shit Only, hosted by Trap-A-Holics, following the block-beating clip for the tape’s title track.

Chevy Woods explains the origins of “Forever”: “Most of my videos have been shot on the block back in Pittsburgh with the homies, smoking weed, showing guns but with my recent move to L.A., my life took a transition and I wanted to show that I’m not in the inner city anymore: This is where I’m at. I made this move for more opportunity. Pittsburgh will forever be in heart but I needed to conquer a new territory and it’s been dope being out here. There are so many people who have heard of me but never met me and they’re eager to get to work. I named this song ‘Forever’ because I’m committed to doing this forever. We filmed this video in The Valley near LA and being where I’m from, I never expected to see what I’ve seen or do what I do. This video, which was shot in natural habitat where there were horses and farms around, shows you how this move to L.A. has been a 360 for me.”

Gang Shit Only capped off a busy 2016 for Chevy Woods, marked by new music and business partnerships. Chevy kicked off the year with …And The Story Goes, a four-part visual EP that chronicled his rise in the world of Hip-Hop. The in-demand emcee released a series of loose singles, including “Wit My Dogs” featuring Atlanta rapper Rich The Kid, “Myself,” featuring Sage The Gemini, and hypnotic solo records “6 Months Later” and “I Made This Drunk.“ Chevy also treated his fans to numerous freestyles over famous rap beats, including freestyles over Fat Joe & Remy Ma’s “All The Way Up“ and Bryson Tiller’s “Don’t,” and appeared on several tracks on Taylor Gang’s compilation tape TGOD Vol. 1.
