MP3: Booty Fade – “On & On Remix”
Dallas Duo Remixes Erykah Badu’s “On & On” Into A Down-Tempo Club Jam
07.15.2013
The Song:
When Dallas producers DJ Sober and PICNICTYME realized their shared interest in creating club music, the two joined forces to become Booty Fade. The collaboration between the two, who have been major players in Dallas’ party and indie rap scenes, is a way for them to step into a new genre and create something different. Quickly gaining recognition with their first release “F#$k Like a Stripper”, Picnic and Sober have been on their way to representing Dallas party music worldwide.
The DJ/production duo have now remixed Erykah Badu‘s 1997 song “On & On” into an up-to-date dance track. The originally easygoing song is given a new aesthetic in Booty Fade’s down-tempo club remix. Picnic has worked closely with Badu before as a member of the singer’s Cannabinoids crew. He has also been chosen to host the RB Sound Select show in Dallas on July 26th, where Badu will perform.
“On & On Remix” premiered on GorillaVsBear.net, who invited Booty Fade to perform at their Gorilla vs. Bear III Festival this August in Dallas. Following that, the group will release their self-titled album on September 10th.

Booty Fade Background:
Booty Fade, the production duo who took their name from a popular haircut, are gaining attention for their hometown of Dallas, Texas with their club music collaboration. The two halves of Booty Fade, PICNICTYME and DJ Sober, are no newcomers to the Dallas rap scene. Separately, the two have worked with A.Dd+, the Cannabinoids, the Party, PPT, and events like the Big Bang parties. When the duo discovered that they shared an interest in making party music, Sober and Picnic formed Booty Fade as a way for them to step out of their indie rap personas and create something new. The duo take regional styles from all over to craft their dance floor tracks, which quickly grabbed the attention of their city with their first release “F#$k Like a Stripper”.
