The Oakland Kingpin Teams Up with the Las Vegas-based MMG Signee for a Full-Length

Critical Praise for Philthy Rich
“With a decade-long career, ties to his region’s old guard, and a clever affection for delivery surrounded by repetitive earworm hooks, Philthy’s grown from a Mac Dre-affiliate into a venerable heavyweight of the Yay Area revival sound.” – Mass Appeal
“A veteran in the Bay Area rap scene, Philthy Rich built a reputation as the Bay Area’s Gucci Mane because of his drug-fueled, yet down-to-earth, rhymes, his prolific output, and his relationships with the best street rappers and producers.” – HipHopDX
“The Oakland native has been working hard lately and been dropping some fire music.” – XXL
The Song:
Philthy Rich is from the Bay Area, but his network extends from sea to shining sea. Today, Philthy teams up with Las Vegas emcee and Maybach Music soldier Yowda for American Greed, a 12-track project stocked with trap bangers and snarling lyricism. Philthy and Yowda demonstrate an electric chemistry, trading bars and swapping street stories with gravitas and a sense of humor. Featuring appearances from Jim Jones, Zoey Dolla, J. Stalin, Sauce Walka, and Jazz Laser, American Greed is a no-frills, straight up rap album for people who appreciate realness.
Philthy Rich, a slick-talking emcee with a tireless work ethic, is currently preparing for the release of Hood Rich 4, his next solo project. Last week XXL premiered, “59 To 79” a piano-laden trap banger featuring G Herbo. “59 to 79” followed the Zaytoven-produced cut “Numbers” and the remix to “Broke Boy,” which features a long guest list of buzzing artists. With guest appearances from Skeme, Shy Glizzy, Sauce Walka, Soulja Boy and more, and production by the likes of Zaytoven and Shawty Fresh, Hood Rich 4 releases August 17th.
Born and raised in East Oakland’s notorious Seminary neighborhood, Philthy Rich is a seasoned veteran in the Bay Area Hip-Hop scene, called “The Bay Area’s Gucci Mane” by HipHopDX, for his raw and honest lyricism, his great ear for new talent, untiring work ethic and wide network of collaborators. Last week, Fake Shore Drive premiered the KCDaBeatMonster-produced “Broke Boy (Remix),” which features Skeme and Sauce Walka. Earlier, Complex premiered “Barely Know My Name” which features Lil B, Mistah F.A.B., Mozzy and Celly Ru. In the lead up to January’s Real N*ggas Back in $tyle, the first in a series of three albums with the same title, Philthy Rich shared a series of singles starting with music videos for the IAMSU-assisted money-making anthem “Make A Living,” which gained more than one million Soundcloud streams, and the trunk-thumping Young Scooter collab “Buss Down (Right Now).” Philthy Rich’s latest project, SemCity MoneyMan 4, available for streaming on Soundcloud and for purchase on iTunes. Hood Rich 4 hits stores later this summer.
