The Video:
Premiered by FACT Magazine, Oakland’s Main Attrakionz have released their video for “Shoot the Dice.” In the visuals, M.A.’s MondreM.A.N. and Squadda B are joined by long-time collaboratorShady Blaze. Suited-n-booted, “Shoot the Dice” finds the rappers reflecting on the gambles and risks that are worth taking as they play cards, perform for fans, and put their dedicated yet carefree lifestyle on the front page while throwing money in the air. Produced entirely by Friendzone, the cloud rap originators’808s & Dark Grapes III album will be released on via Neil Young‘s Vapor Records.
After their return from a several year hiatus with an official release date for their long-awaited 808s & Dark Grapes III album, the Main Attrakionz have steadily added to their list of releases. In conjunction with their album announcement, The FADER debuted the duo’s Kreayshawn-directed visual to their single, “Ain’t No Other Way,” where Squadda B and MondreM.A.N. wander during a “nice little night” in San Francisco’s Chinatown while vibing out with production duo Friendzone. Following their video release, the two liberated their HotNewHipHop premiered single, “Dip,” which the website deemed “yet another feel-good anthem in their repertoire, and should provide some much-needed chill in the next few months.”
Several websites and publications have already publicly acknowledged the Main Attrakionz’s resurgence, including Steady Bloggin, who created a compilation of loose singles from the cloud rap duo. East Bay Express additionally wrote an article on their return and previewed their upcoming project saying that it has a “harmonious, yin-and-yang quality to the way that Mondre and Squadda’s pared-down verses complement Friendzone’s multi-layered production.” 808s & Dark Grapes III is preceded by the duo’s 2012 release, Bossalinis and Fooliyones, which followed their 2011 album 808s & Dark Grapes II, which received praise from Pitchfork, Complex, SPIN, and Fact Magazine.
Main Attrakionz are performing a free show with Friendzone at the Rocksteady in Oakland on June 25th.

Main Attrakionz Background:
Hailing from North Oakland, California, Squadda B and MondreM.A.N. of Main Attrakionz have been rapping together for most of their young lives. Early on, a shared love of rap music led them to put school on the back-burner and focus on producing music with a talented crew of local artists. Over the ensuing 7+ years, (and with an added assist from the world wide web and social media) Main Attrakionz have cultivated a unique and passionate sound, combining opaque atmospherics and lived-in reality rhymes, that stands as one of the most interesting and refreshing in the crowded and fractured world of today’s rap underground.
A relentless stream of solo and collaborative releases in 2011, including I Smoke Because I Don’t Care About Death, The Shady Bambino Project, Dope Since ’91, and their most definitive statement to-date, 808s and Dark Grapes II, have turned heads not only among those with an Internet connection and an interest in rap music, but have landed them acclaim from publications such as Pitchfork, The New York Times, Complex Magazine, The Fader, SPIN, and Fact Magazine.
