Video: Lil Durk – “Make It Out” (Prod. by Will-a-Fool)
The Drill Rap Superstar Recounts an Emotional Legal Battle in This XXL-Premiered Single

Critical Praise
“Unshackled from any kind of outline, Durk’s pen game shines. His rise was dotted with blood-soaked tales that summarized much of drill’s appeal: ground-level glimpses at Chicago’s South Side that colored in the outline offered by grim murder statistics.” – Pitchfork
The Video:
A popular street rapper who imbues his street tales with honest emotion, Lil Durk is one of Chicago’s most charismatic emcees. In “Make It Out,” Durk’s latest single, the South Sider dives deep into his personal issues, recounting his state of mind during a recent legal battle. Showing off his trademark melodicism over a plaintive instrumental from Atlanta producer Will-A-Fool (Future, K CAMP, Gucci Mane), Durk speaks his mind, railing against two-timing friends, cursing out the president, and opening up about his drug use. Premiered by XXL, “Make It Out” follows “Goofy,” Durk’s Southside-produced, Jeezy and Future-featuring statement of supremacy, premiered by Complex with a videopremiered recently by Billboard.
“I just wanted to speak to the streets and give them motivation on making it out,” explains Lil Durk. “Whatever situation they’re in, know that they can make do and have a better life.”
A blunt lyricist and master melodist, Lil Durk has been very active in the past few months, blending the music of his hometown of Chicago and adopted city of Atlanta. This summer, Durk teamed up with fellow Drill movement rapper Lil Reese for Supa Vultures EP, a six-track collaborative project. Distributed by EMPIRE, Supa Vultures EP features the hit single “Distance,” recently featured in Complex’s Bout To Blow column, which has earned over 2 million views on YouTube since August, as well as the Durk solo track “Nobody Knows,” with a video premiered by Karen Civil. The OTF (Only The Family) spitter also made appearances on Young Thug’s EBBTG, Trae Tha Truth‘s Tha Truth 3, and Ralo x Gucci Mane‘s Ralo LaFlare. Durk’s February project Love Songs For the Streets featured YFN Lucci and Young Thug, as the 24-year-old honed a matured sound. Blending his melodic approach to drill with Atlanta’s trap movement, Lil Durk will continue to evolve and grow as an artist and continue to please newcomers and longtime fans alike.

EMPIRE Background
EMPIRE was founded in 2010 as an artist-friendly, progressive digital distribution company. After early success, and identifying future icons such as Kendrick Lamar, Sage The Gemini, and Rich Homie Quan, EMPIRE was quickly regarded as a tastemaker in the industry and throughout the past five years evolved into a full-fledged record label, distributor and publisher for independent musicians. With the company and roster growing at a breakneck pace, EMPIRE has effectively disrupted a stale business model by bringing its energy, expertise, and acumen to its artists and labels.
