Video: Domani – “Beat The System” (Prod. by Jones T)
Atlanta’s Rap Prodigy Offers His Take on Social Issues in Latest Visual

Critical Praise for Domani
“[‘Paris’ is] a flowing, rich showcase of the Southern newcomer’s distinct style.” – The FADER
“…Domani definitely has the potential to dominate rap in his own right. With bars that are mellow, melodic and most impressively, mature, Domani deserves to go without his age or upbringing mentioned in relation to his music.” – PAPER
“[Domani is] an individual and a rapper well and truly on an astronomical ascension phase” – High Snobiety
The Video:
With a light Southern drawl, mature lyrical abilities, and a deceptively seasoned sing-song flow, Domani is a promising new entry in to the catalog of Atlanta’s rising stars. Following the March release of his first official project The Constellation, Domani shares the thought-provoking visual for “Beat The System“. Directed by Xavier Ruffin and Phillyflyboy, “Beat The System” follows Domani through a black-and-white meditation, making gravity do his bidding while spitting wisdom over a Just Blaze-esque Jones T production. “Beat The System” is the perfect companion to The Constellation, and a shining example of Domani’s abilities as an introspective artist.
“With the water bottle in the video, I wanted to put emphasis on what I said about Flint. ‘How we can afford to go to war but we can’t save Flint’,” Domani explains. “If I’m this young and I see what’s going on, and nothing is being done about it, then there’s a problem. ”
“The water also represents life,” Domani continues, “How we tend to waste it on stupid things, like trying to be that dude with the most weed, or the strongest weed. Or spending so much time thinking about ourselves that we forget that other people would kill to be in our position to really say something. Instead, we’re using our platform to talk about the things most people would never get to see in their lifetime. And that’s the reason why when we get a little money, we blow it on things like Bentleys, Gucci belts, and all that. And the companies are just sitting back laughing at us while we’re messing our own people up. Thats my definition of selling out. Knowing the negative affects it could have on the generation, and still doing it because you want that nice car, or that big house.”
In their February premiere of Domani’s “Paris“ single, The FADER praised that “Domani Harris will be on your radar in a big way this year,” while PAPER Magazine hailed him as Atlanta’s Next Big Thing. Domani’s Constellation project established him as a rapper to watch as he grows into a fully-formed artist and human being. With appearances from London Jae of Bankroll Mafia and Zonnique, The Constellation is merely Domani’s first step in what is sure to be a long and decorated career. Prior to “Beat The System,” Domani shared visuals for “Paris” and “Playalistic Music.” Stay tuned for more from the 16 year-old Atlanta prodigy.
