Critical Praise for Chevy Woods:
“Pittsburgh’s own Chevy Woods doesn’t carry the nickname ‘Cheffy’ for nothing. The self-proclaimed foodie can not only throw down in the kitchen but knows what good food tastes like.” – Vibe
“Chevy flies high and gives the world an in depth look into his life as a Taylor Gang aviator.” – XXL Mag
“He’s proven that you can make money without selling out to a label, gaining more than 300,000 followers on Twitter and 67,000 downloads of his mixtape, Gangland 3.” – Pittsburgh City Paper
The Video:
Taylor Gang rapper Chevy Woods employs his henchwomen to collect debts in a dystopian Los Angeles scene in the All Def Digital-debuted video for “Getcha Some.” The song, which features Post Malone and rising singer/songwriter PJ, is from Chevy Woods’ recently released The 48 Hunnid Project and was produced by Ricky P, who samples Hudson Mohawke’s “Fuse.”
“It tells the story of wanting to get some money in any possible way,” Woods told Complex in their premiere of the audio. “Like, fuck what people think or say, your job is your job and if you want some cash you gotta go getcha some by any means. I met Post through a mutual friend from Dallas and he happened to be in L.A. at the same time as I was in the studio working with PJ on the record. He came to the studio, we met, we talked. I was already familiar with a few of his records. The song ‘Getcha Some’ just made sense. He laid a dope verse and here we are today with a cool record.”
Chevy Woods made waves earlier this year leading up to The 48 Hunnid Project with visuals for tracks like “All Said and Done” featuring Dej Loaf, which premiered via i-D. Throughout the EP, Woods is joined by a talent-packed cast that includes Wiz Khalifa, OG Maco, Rico Love, and Post Malone. The “Getcha Some” video releases as Woods returns from a 16-date Europe tour alongside Wiz Khalifa and A$AP Rocky. Woods will be performing in his hometown Pittsburgh on November 27th>.

Chevy Woods Background:
Chevy Woods has been building up momentum with his mixtapes Red Cup Music, The Cook Out, and the Gangland series, progressing his sound with each release. After years of writing and recording in his home studio, Chevy traded in his keyboard for cash to pay for studio time. In 2004, while recording at Pittsburgh’s I.D. Labs Studios, Chevy encountered Wiz Khalifa and the two instantly formed a bond. “Me and Wiz, we always had each other’s backs. Since we were both recording at I.D. Labs at the same time, we would hold each other down,” Chevy has explained. “Even if it was just picking up Wendy’s for the other one on our way to the studio.”
