Oakland California rapper C-Money, known for his smooth style and jovial demeanor, announces November 18th release date for Just 4 You EP via HipHopDX. The 8 track project features Bay Area trendsetters Too $hort, Kool John, and Iamsu!. The first two singles, “Play That” featuring Iamsu! and “Corner Music” featuring Mackin’, have each garnered six figure YouTube views, highlighting the playful, bouncy esthetic that is captivating the California urban music scene. C-Money’s music has not only received local but national admiration, as his single “Play That” aired on 106 & Park, cementing the early twenty-something as one of the Bay’s next sensations.
Part of what makes C’s music stand alone is his careful balance of lyricism and vitality. “I have an East coast flare with a West coast style,” he says, citing Wu-Tang Clan and Scarface as primary songwriting influences. Like most Bay rappers, C-Money’s “slap” style beats are fitting for the strip club, and with catchy choruses he stuffs honest bars, wisdom, and life into his rhymes. With Just 4 You being the crucial building block for his career, C mentions “I took the point in time I’m at in my life and put it in the music. Its more of a turn-up EP, something you can feel good about.”
Having come from the complicated streets of Oakland, C-Money fancies himself a survivor of consequences that were not always pleasant, making the right choices difficult at times.
