The News:
Two rappers from vastly different areas, both considered legends in their native turf, with Beeda Weeda representing East Oakland, California and Big Hud hailing from Dallas, Texas, are uniting to release three projects this summer. The first project will be Big Hud’s solo street album, O.Y.B.A. (On Yo Bi*tch A$$,) hosted by DJ Holiday, which is set for release on August 12th. O.Y.B.A will be available in two formats: the version with DJ Holiday will be made available for free while the original version will be for sale on iTunes. The second project will be Beeda’s solo album entitled, Too $hort Presents: Beeda Weeda’s Bass Rock Babies, due to drop August 19th. The album comes with a short documentary called “What Is A Beeda Weeda?” and will be sold on iTunes. Both artists’ solo albums strongly feature homegrown talent from their respective native soil, creating unique, regionally-specific sounds for both projects. The third project is a joint album entitled The Storm, which will be available for sale on September 30th.
Dallas, Texas’ Big Hud has emerged as a fixture in the world of hip-hop. Having worked with artists such as Yelawolf and Curren$y, as well as opening for several music legends including Too $hort, Lil Wayne, and Rick Ross, Hud’s extensive experience in the music industry has given him the tools he needs to succeed. His music video for “Gone Get It” was premiered via AllHipHop. The racy video delves into Hud’s dreams and desires of a sexy temptress, however his fantasy is suddenly shattered when his real girl awakens him to real world responsibilities and problems. Big Hud’s upcoming street album, which is hosted by DJ Holiday entitled, OYBA, is due to drop on August 12th and features Too $hort, Curren$y, Cyhi Da Prynce, Rittz, Beeda Weeda, Boston George, A.Dd+, and more.
Beeda Weeda has established himself as one of the most promising rising rappers from The Bay Area. In doing so, he’s also garnered the support of The Bay’s most loved legends, including Too $hort and E-40, the latter of which is featured on the video for “Hustla,” which HotNewHipHop premiered. The video shows the two MC’s recording together in the studio. Beeda’s upcoming album, Too Short Presents: Beeda Weeda’s Bass Rock Babies, is due to drop on August 19th and features Too $hort, E-40, Richie Rich, B-Legit, J Stalin, Clyde Carson, 1.O.A.K., Gunplay, Young Gully and more.

Beeda Weeda’s Background:
Beeda Weeda is a young rapper/producer from East Oakland, CA, and first got his start in 2006 with his nationally recognized Homework mixtape. Later that same year, Beeda released his acclaimed debut album,Turfology 101. Riding the wave of notoriety his single, “Turfs Up“, garnered a swell of success including a music video airing on 32 stations, generating over 1,000,000 hits online and boosting the rapper to number 3 onMySpace’s Top 10 Hip Hop/Rap Artists. He later worked on a remix of the track with a number of Bay Area legends including E-40 and Too $hort, among others. He has produced for such acts as Brooklyn’s own Wildcats, Suga Free, Yukmouth and more. His latest project, Bass Rock Babies: The Leak, is a free mixtape and precursor to the full-length album, Too $hort Presents: Bass Rock Babies, due out later this year via Pushin’ The Beat/Clear Label Records.
Big Hud’s Background:
Hailing from Dallas, TX, an ambitious artist by the name of Big Hud “Da Heavyweight” has progressively emerged as a fixture in today’s evolving music industry. Over the past few years Big Hud has had moderate success with singles such as “Smell My Cologne” featuring Shady/Interscope recording artist Yelawolf, and “Summertime Ish” ft. Curren$y which generated a strong buzz and a video that earned regular rotation on MTV Jams. Big Hud has also opened for many major artists across the country such as Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and Waka Flocka as well as the legendary Too $hort, and Strange Music‘s own Rittz.
