“it’s safe to say I’ll be keeping tabs on him for future” – Lyrical Lemonade

Kassan “Kazzie” Sherman was born and raised in Newark, NJ, on 19th Street and South Orange Avenue, just a block from where Garden State rap dignitary Redman is originally from. Fortunately, Kazzie avoided the ill street blues that plagued his rough neighborhood and found rapping as an outlet at an early age. By the time he was 11, the aspiring lyricist was traveling up the block to Red’s old stomping ground and turning heads during the regular ciphers that would take place there. “It was always guys out there rapping, going back and forth,” recalls Kazzie. “They would get us out there battling against the older guys. I went out there and I was rhyming better then some adults.”

In 2009, the 6-foot-4- inch rapper linked up with New Jersey indie imprint Nu World Era Music Group. Spring 2014, “Yeah Ok” was released under the indie label NuWorld, which was also hosted my Power 105.1 “Prince of New York” DJ Self and Gwinning Records. After the “Yeah Ok” release Kazzie moved forward in establishing his own musical identity. Currently crafted HOODSTONERS mixtape, solidifies Kazzie’s voice. “These records show my struggle and what I have been through. Creatively and organically the flow was there”.
