NYC riser wolfacejoeyy is a student of the game, making music that absorbs the sounds of his region and repurposes them to fit his purposes. Taking a trip to Jersey for his latest single, the 21-year-old artist takes command of the dancefloor with “double tap,” his new single and music video. The song is a collaboration with a cadre of producers including MCVERTT, the in-demand Jersey club wunderkind, that shares his signature combination of futuristic synths, ear-catching sound effects, and irresistible percussion that forces compulsive hip-shaking. Over the insistent 808s, crafted by MCVERTT, Synthetic, Kaotic, and Venny, joeyy plays the role of “Mr. Steal Your Girl,” flexing his romantic successes directly in his rival’s faces: “Says she loves when I stuntin’ like that/Say she follow me on every app/Everything I post she double tap/Boy you made you not gettin’ her back, all you do is yap, like,” sings joeyy. “double tap” is the latest video to emerge from Valentino, joeyy’s upcoming mixtape.
