The Announcement:

Afro Nation puts the best and brightest talents of the global music industry on display, highlighting the breadth and diversity of Global Black music. Today, Afro Nation announces the star-studded lineup for Afro Nation Detroit 2024, offering a laundry list of notable names from Afrobeats, Amapiano, Hip-Hop, and more. Nigerian megastar Rema headlines, bringing his catalog of world famous Afrobeats jams to the Motor City.

The second annual Afro Nation Detroit promises to be an unstoppable party, boasting an enviable undercard featuring some of the hottest acts in today’s industry. North American names like Toronto titan PartyNextDoor, and Detroit’s own Kash Doll will perform, as well as African giants like Adekunle Gold and Ayra Starr. These major acts are supported by rapidly rising stars of the Afrobeats scene, including Amaarae, and Ruger. The Piano People stage returns once more, bringing some of the most exciting acts performing the ascendant South African genre of Amapiano, including Uncle WafflesScorpion KingsDBN GogoMusa Keys, and more. The only scheduled Afro Nation event in the United States in 2024, Afro Nation Detroit returns to Bedrock’s Douglass Site from August 17th-18th, 2024.

Headlined last year by Burna Boy and Davido, Afro Nation Detroit 2023 drew tens of thousands of attendees each day to Bedrock’s Douglass Site, once a historically significant housing project in Detroit that was the first federally funded housing project for African Americans in the United States and the former home of legends like Diana Ross and Smokey Robinson. Before the festival, Afro Nation hosted a series of Homecoming Conversations for industry professionals and artists, covering topics including musical innovation, entrepreneurship, and more.

Afro Nation festivals are dedicated to providing a global platform for music from Africa and its diaspora.
