Southeast Texas has a rich rap tradition, but Bay City native That Mexican OT is out to prove that there’s much more to the region than just Houston. Kicking it with some OGs from the Bay City scene, OT shares “Kick Doe Freestyle,” his new music video. A slo-mo, screwed up anthem produced by veteran Houston beatsmith Cory Mo, “Kick Doe Freestyle” unites OT with two uncles from his hometown, Homer, aka Homer Pimpson, and Mone, veterans in the Texas rap scene who specialize in getting throwed. OT steps in for the anchor verse, twirling his signature tongue-twisters in a pitched-down baritone: “I got a partner named Skelez, but we call him Skeleton/Inside my body, it’s Versace, but I got some Gucci skin/I’m from Texas where we put some elbows on electric Benz/F*ck your love and f*ck your friends, I’m strictly ’bout my dividends,” spits OT. The Cashjundi & DGreen Filmz-directed video starts with a home video of Mone rapping back in the day, before cutting to a present day full of swanged-out Cadillacs and dirty syrup.

“Kick Doe Freestyle” is the closing song from Texas Technician, OT’s new mixtape, and a high-octane tribute to his home state’s bountiful rap scene.
