Pac Div Links With Two LA Commrades For New GMB Single
The Song:
Since LA-based rap trio Pac Div wrapped their West Coast tour with Mac Miller and released exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from their tour performances last week, brothers Like and Mibbs and brother-from-another BeYoung are anxiously awaiting the release of their sophomore album, GMB, due out November 27th. For their latest single, the guys bring the topic of fly kicks and stunting to the forefront on the track "Cross Trainers," produced by Swiff D.
Appealing to both sneakerheads and fans of a more progressive West Coast sound, "Cross Trainers" sets the tone for GMB, which Pac Div describes as their most aggressive release to date. On top of a ghoulish sample and hard-hitting 808 beats, the trifecta laced up some two-fisted bars for this song, hashing it out between the infectious hook, "I got my cross trainers on, muthafucka I run shit/ All I do is rap, make dough, fuck the dumb shit." They also enlisted some verses from their LA cohorts Blu and Kendrick Lamar, who Like recently worked with for Kendrick's song "Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst" off good kid, m.A.A.d. city.

The
Background:
Based in Southern California, Pac Div started rapping together in high school as an eleven-member crew. Realizing a group of that size was not realistic, they shrank to three members in 2005. Soon after the release of their first mixtape, Sealed For Freshness: The Blend Tape, the group received national attention from Billboard, Rolling Stone, The Source, VIBE, XXL and gained the approval of hip-hop legends Pharrell Williams, Ludacris, ?uestlove, Talib Kweli, 9th Wonder and more. They continued climbing the ladder, opening up for big names like Nas, Q-Tip, Busta Rhymes, Ice-T, Ludacris and N.E.R.D. After releasing two more mixtapes through Motown Universal, the group left the label and released their first full-length album, The Div, through their own label, The Div Co. and RBC Records. After receiving much praise from the hip hop world with their first release, Pac Div is turning up the heat with GMB, which is set to be the most aggressive release from the group thus far with features from friends Mac Miller and Kendrick Lamar.
