With 2012 winding down, it's safe to say that no producer in hip-hop has had a bigger, more productive year than Mike WiLL Made It. Mike WiLL has spent 2012 tearing up the streets and the charts, alike, producing three Billboard number one singles - 2 Chainz' "No Lie" Ft. Drake; Juicy J's "Bandz A Make Her Dance" Ft. Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz; Future's "Turn On The Lights" - co-producing on a fourth - Kanye West's "Mercy" Ft. Now, Mike WiLL Made It is preparing to release Est. In 1989 Pt. 2.5, the third installment of his Est. In 1989 mixtape series, scheduled for release on December 24th. The tape will include a mix of new exclusives alongside some of Mike WiLL's most recent hits, with features from Gucci Mane, Future, Rihanna, Kelly Rowland, Brandy, Juicy J, Big Sean, B.o.B., French Montana, Young Jeezy, Trinidad Jame$, Chief Keef, Lil' Wayne, Rick Ross, TI, and more.
Today, Mike WiLL Made It is releasing the tape's first exclusive, "I Hit That," which features Gucci Mane and Juicy J and was premiered by Complex. The song, built around dark synths and Mike WiLL's signature 808's, finds both rappers in rare form; while Juicy J's third verse proves memorable with lines like, "Sliding down the pole, like she finna fight a fire/ You smoke her out; I get the bitch higher," Gucci Mane's opening verses prove to be a non-stop stream of quotables: "If I had a quarter for all the whores I hit/ I'd be like Bill Gates, top of the Fortune list."
About the song, Mike WiLL says: "I grew up bumping Juicy J, and I've been working with Gucci Mane from day one - and having a good relationship with both Gucci and Juicy makes it easy to work. Both of these guys make strip club anthems - when you mix that with my tracks, which control the clubs, this is what came out. Est. In 1989 Pt. 2.5 is on the way; there's crazy diversity on this tape. I know what people want, and that's what this mixtape will deliver."
