"When I was 14 and bought 93 til Infinity on wax, I remember opening the blue vinyl and immediately falling in love with one of my favorite albums ever," says Flud CEO Doug Cohen. "Staring at me on that vinyl was the Hiero logo- its an honor to be able to have such an iconic logo on one of our watches 20 years later"
Del spoke in an interview with SF Weekly back in 2000 about the Hiero logo he invented, saying: "I never thought it would get this big [...] I think slowly but surely people are starting to pay attention to us." Almost 13 years later, approaching Hieroglyphics' 20th year anniversary, the Hiero logo serves as a representation of third eye vision, a symbol for infinity, and an icon that pays homage to Hip Hop music from a collective that has become one of the most recognized Hip Hop groups to emerge from the 90's.
The "Meet The Crew" video series spotlights the crew and giving a unique personal perspective from each of the guys. Part 1 spotlights Phesto, Del, & Tajai each giving a one-on-one message to the camera. Phesto gives a tour of the "Hieroglyphics Lab", an Oakland landmark, and speaks about the spirituality behind the "third eye." Del talks about his use of technology to create music, and how it has helped him be able to create music no matter where he is. And lastly, Tajai brings us back to the past and recounts some rarely heard before memories and good times spent in Berkeley, ending with poignant thoughts about Hiero's legacy for future generations.
