Critical Praise For A.Dd+:
"The best rap album that Dallas has ever seen, front to back." - Dallas Observer
"Another total jam from Dallas' own A.Dd+." - Gorilla vs. Bear
"ADd+ admit that they're not stars, but they probably should be. This is the sound of two dudes rapping for people to take notice. And you should." - Jeff Weiss
The Song:
A.Dd+, fresh off their first national tour, opening for Black Milk, now have their sights set firmly on the future. That future includes a follow up to their highly lauded When Pigs Fly album, titled DiveHiFlyLo, which will be released later this year. Paris Pershun & Slim Gravy will also release the next episode in their WADD Radio Podcast this Thursday, a special 4/20 Edition, and in keeping with that theme, today A.Dd+ is releasing a brand new track, "When Paris Smokes."
The song is produced by Breeze and features a guest verse from fellow Dallas rapper Tunk, along with a smooth bridge from singer Mz. Fortune. The song's first two verses sound like your typical - but great - ode to weed, as Slim Gravy and Tunk take turns sharing weed stories most smokers can relate to. The song takes a twist, however, on the third verse when Paris, who doesn't usually smoke, takes control of the mic. "Slim and Tunk's verses are everyday tales of smoking and folks trying to freeload," explains Paris. "Since I don't smoke, but provide the Caddy for them to smoke in, I had to tell my side of who the freeloaders are in that situation."

The Background:
Quirky yet streetwise, fun-loving yet dead serious, A.Dd+, the duo of Paris Pershun and Slim Gravy, may just be leading Dallas towards a rap renaissance. In 2009, A.Dd+ released their debut mixtape, Power of the Tongue, a project that earned them regional acclaim and a "Best Rap Act" nomination from local alternative weekly the Dallas Observer, but it was in 2011, with the release of their official debut When Pigs Fly that the duo broke through. The LP was hailed as "the best hip-hop album Dallas has ever released," by the Dallas Observer, who also nominated the group for "Best Album" and "Best Rap Act" in their year-end Dallas Observer Music Awards. The project also earned A.Dd+ acclaim from national media outlets such as XXL Magazine and Pitchfork, with a coveted Chairman's Choice feature and inclusion in the "Best Of: Underrated Rap Releases of 2011" list, respectively. Pitchfork described the group as, "the spawn of UGK and Outkast, combining street and cerebral." 2012 already looks to be fruitful for the duo, who kicked off the year taking part in the Red Bull Skooled Tour, a seven-city run through the southwest alongside a collection of Texas legends and fellow up-and-comers. The duo recently finished their first North American tour, opening up for Black Milk's Claps And Slaps Tour, and are now focusing on their sophomore album, DiveHiFlyLo.
